Change.... But for the better?

So after nearly a year of political campaigning, the election has finally come to a screeching stop. History has been made, but is it really what is best for our country? After last nights results were made public, a black rally of over 100 African Americans were dancing in the street outside my dorm; yelling, and jumping on cars as they passed. It sickens me inside to think of the people who voted for Obama, solely because of the color of his skin. It is equally wrong to vote for a man because of his color, then to vote for someone because of their color.

The election is not an event, but a process of government. Whenever you walk into the polls, it is crucial to know who you are voting for and why. After walking through campus and asking every black person wearing an Obama shirt why they voted for him, I got only two answers.. "because hes black" and "I didn't vote".

Our forefathers of this country build the foundation of this government with a vision of a choice by the people, but the thought of this probably never entered that dream. Just on my small campus in KY, you could hear shouts of "we run this country" and "Hey white girl, my President is black and so is yours, deal with it!" (even though to their ignorance they have no idea that he is not the President until January) It makes me sick to my stomach to think that someone would abuse our system of Democracy by voting for someone on the basis of color.

Worthy of yahoo sports?

Daniel Ocean? Not quite. I find it upsetting that news has to be dug from such shallow events. Murray State Athletics strives on getting talented athletes with troubled backgrounds at other universities, so I guess those stories are over played. But when the OVC freshmen player of the year decides to play a prank on a rent-a-cop with a flashlight, the crap hits the fan. Nobody heard about Murray States point guard getting drug charges, yet this is worthy of ruining a good mans name on yahoo? Not all news, has to be bad news.

U.S is screwed...

Democrats have taken the house and senate, now were all gonna wake up in a brave new world. A world where the Constitution gets trampled by an army of terrorist clones created in a stem cell research lab run by homosexual doctors who sterilize their instruments over burning American flags. Where tax and spend Democrats take all your hard earned money and use it to buy electric cars for National Public Radio and teach evolution to illegal immigrants. Oh, and everybody's high!
